During January, we delivered donations (consisting of masks, alcohol gel, clothing and furniture) to homes in the municipalities of Independencia, Conchalí, San Miguel, Maipú, El Bosque and Puente Alto.


Along with the dentistry majors of various universities, a project is being planned that includes free evaluation and treatment for older people.


Pucón’s ELEAM home El Legado del Nono was visited, getting to know the work carried out there with effort and dedication. They will be provided legal support regarding their statutes as a foundation in order to support their continuity.


The first Newsletter was sent to our network of contacts, reporting the activities and interventions carried out with the aim of keeping our allies updated on the progress and needs that arise. It will be sent every two months. If you wish to receive it, please write to contacto@redeleam.cl


Two projects are being planned along with Universidad Gabriela Mistral’s Business Management (Ingeniería Comercial) and Psychology majors, in order to be carried out during the academic year. These include consulting on the Management Manual for ELEAM, and a Reminiscence workshop in which the elderly will be encouraged to remember significant moments from their life stories, share interests, evoke favourite aromas, and much more.


RedELEAM is committed to the well-being of the elderly, and therefore the constant training of care teams is of utmost importance. For this reason, a certified course on “Care and Wellbeing for the elderly” was carried out by the Salcobrand Wellbeing Institute and the Red Cross, where 10 RedELEAM homes participated.


Soledad Alcalde was present in various media outlets to present her point of view regarding the closure of CONAPRAN homes and the challenges of long-term care.
