Development of Botanical Illustration Workshop in Pillán
Held from October 22 to 29 was the second version of the botanical illustration workshop led by Turkish artist Işık Güner. Ten students from different parts of Chile participated, spending six days exploring the forest, looking for plants to illustrate. During the conference, the students participated in classes on drawing technique and watercolor application, visited Fundación Reñihué to learn about its research and conservation projects, learned about the work of the beekeeping plant directed by Jaime Araneda, and enjoyed the activities and landscapes of the Pillán Reserve.
Third meeting of Protected Areas and their Local Neighboring Communities
On Monday, October 16, in the central hall of Centro Cultural La Moneda, Fundación Chilco presented samples of the work carried out in Vodudahue from 2022 to date, including the species identification guides, the documentary (in development) and the final report.
Attendees had the chance to see the work that is being carried out, and also to talk with representatives of The Nature Conservancy, Rewilding Chile, CONAF, and other institutions, in order to evaluate possible collaborations to be developed in Vodudahue in the future.
