Lake Champions Trip

Chile Lagos Limpios invited a group of influential philanthropists and businesspeople based in Lake Tahoe and San Francisco Bay, California (Lake Champions) to visit the lakes of Chile’s Northern Patagonia, in order to engage with the culture, people and landscape of Chile’s lakes region and therefore to experience the opportunities and threats they face.
They embarked on guided tours to and around the Villarrica, Tinquilco, Riñihue, Llanquihue and Tagua Tagua lakes to witness the region’s remarkable natural beauty, while learning about some of ChLL’s ongoing research projects and conservation efforts. Additionally, they engaged with local community organisations dedicated to defending the environment, and explored opportunities for collaboration and shared learning.
