Puerto Williams celebrated 70 years
During November, the city of Puerto Williams celebrated the 70th anniversary of its founding and, of course, CEDENA played a leading role.
One of the most outstanding activities was a regatta in the Beagle Channel, with the participation of delegations from Ushuaia (Argentina), ASOVELA Biobío, and a J24 commanded by naval reservists from the Central Zone.
Another important milestone was the visit of personalities such as Chilean Sailing Association (FEDEVELA) president Marissa Maurin, who was pleasantly surprised by CEDENA’s work in Puerto Williams; and a team of regatta judges, led by Lieutenant Commander RNY Marco Montalbetti, renowned navigator and national regatta judge.
Fedevela Zona Cup in Valdivia
Continuing with the excellent results and sporting achievements of the children and young people in the Puerto Williams Nautical School Club, a delegation of students participated in the Fedevela Cup, which took place in the Valdivia region in November. More than 50 athletes and 40 boats participated in the ILCA, Sunfish, Piratas, Vagabundo and Optimist classes.
The Puerto Williams delegation stood out in 3rd Place in the ILCA category; 2nd place in ILCA 4.7 category, and 1st place in ILCA 4.7 category. This was reinforced by an excellent spirit of community and camaraderie among the students, who once again raised the values and commitment of CEDENA.
